Dierberg Vineyard’s Pinot Noirs are one of our best selling Pinots in the store. We can’t keep the current 2005 vintage on the shelf. We just received two new Pinots made from grapes from Dierberg Vineyard.

Flying Goat Cellars and Tyler Winery are wineries new to Red Carpet and we are proud to be able to keep finding these gems for you.

A long growing season with cool temperatures throughout the summertime resulted in extended time on the vine. This combined with a smaller crop size resulted in little clusters with optimal ripeness, tannins and acids.

The wine has spicy notes of sandalwood, lavender and cran-cherry with underlying hints of smoked bacon. The first taste reminds of blackberries, then a bit of forest floor earthiness and hints of mocha followed by nuances of boysenberry. This is a beautiful wine with “old world” style and a lingering finish that just keeps going.

The 2006 Dierberg bottling has a deep red color and aromas of violets, lavender and allspice. The palate consists of fine tannin along with flavors of red plum and dark cherry. This wine is drinking well now, but if you have the patience to lay them down for a few years you will reap the greatest reward.
