“Your favorite everyday Zinfandel” is what the team at Sextant call this fabulous Zin. This Paso Robles wine is 91% and 9% Petit Sirah. Barrel aged 11 months in Eastern European and New French Oak. Made primarily with the Primotivo clone which gives the wine a rich peppery characteristic combined with lush plum and berry bouquets. Spicy, yet balanced with just the right amount of oak complimenting ripe plum, strawberry and black cherry flavors. |
Tete-A-Tete is a
fun easy drinking assemblage of Mediterranean varietals (in 2005- its
56% Syrah, 28% Syrah, 28% Mouvedre & 16 % Grenache) They blend it with
current drinkability in mind, for drinking both with or without food. It
is put together from younger vines from their forward tasting barrel
lots. This wine drinks like better than most Coted-du-Rhone Villages
bottlings: sappy, spicy, fabulous flavor and great texture. It is an
eminently enjoyable everyday bottle. The 05 has a deep boysenberry fruit
suggestions, smoky/meaty/gamey complex flavor components that emphasize
the terroir, and a lengthy creamy texture. |
If this wine was a prizefighter, it would be a heavyweight. Big bold, juicy, jammy. Cherries, blueberries, Oh My!. This wine is just dynamite. It is big but it is supple and smooth with a velvety mouthfeel. As many of you know, David Fulton was wine of the year at Red Carpet in 2002 and it has been a love affair that has stood the test of time. Owners Dink and Fulton Mather are two of the nicest people you would want to meet and they are no shrinking violets either. Just like their wine. |
