Lisa
Hedlund (lisa@redcarpetwine.com)
Lisa was born in San Mateo, CA but was raised in Arcadia, CA. In fact, Lisa met H.K. at their 10 year Arcadia High School Reunion.
Lisa has been in the Mortgage Lending business for the past 15 years so it is a no-brainer that Lisa would be in charge of the financial management of Red Carpet. When she is not either doing loans or running Red Carpet Lisa likes to cook, work in her garden and spend time with her 4 boys: H.K., son Keelan (7) and Dogs Moonie and Zimmy. Lisa and H.K. just celebrated their 10 year wedding anniversary and reside in Arcadia.
HK
Hedlund (hk@redcarpetwine.com)
H.K. was born in Arcadia, CA and has, except for a few years at U.S.C., lived there almost all his life.
After working for various large companies for many years H.K. eventually started his own business seven years ago and starting importing beer and selling beer wine and liquor for various importers. That is how he got to know David , Tami and the rest of the Red Carpet family. H.K. is very proud of his family and friends and in continuing the Red Carpet legacy.
Tamera Dobbs
(tami@redcarpetwine.com)
Tamera grew up in "beautiful Bakersfield" with her family on
a farm raising animals in the local 4-H club. She married David in 1986
and moved with him to San Francisco. In 1988, she and David moved to
Glendale and purchased Red Carpet Wine along with David’s father. Early
on, it was decided that her
strength was financial management. Tamera is now responsible for managing
the accounting, advertising and operations aspects of the business. Still, Tamera
considers her two amazing children, Kalyn, age 14 and Daniel, age 9, as
her greatest accomplishment. They provide her with immense joy. While
she spends countless hours managing the business, she also dedicates a
considerable amount of time to volunteer work. Tamera is a former
president of the PTA and currently works tirelessly supporting local
school activities. In her free time, she is pursuing the triathlon dream.
When she and David find get a chance to run away, there’s
nothing more they enjoy than a four day ride on their Specialized
roadbikes.
David Dobbs
(david@redcarpetwine.com)
David has been in the Wine & Spirits business since 1984. In 1989
David took over managing Red Carpet and under his supervision Red Carpet
has become a leader in both wine and spirits. David takes great
pride in making long term relationships with all of Napa’s premier
wineries. You may run into David in Napa Valley on one of his many trips.
He is always coming home with a new find. David’s hobbies include riding
his Harley Davidson "Fat Boy", playing golf, and spending time
with his wife Tamera and their kids Kalyn and Daniel. Here’s to good
friends, good food, and good health. Cheers!
Mike Ulanday (mike@redcarpetwine.com)
The youngest of two, Mike's childhood was no walk in the
park. Constantly in competition with the other siblings only a strong
athletic physique and a keen mental toughness allowed him to overcome the
insurmountable. For almost the past two years (unofficially a Red Carpet
record at the backroom position), not much has changed. Beating the odds
daily, Mike has emerged as the muscle behind Red Carpet. If it needs
delivery, if it needs a shelf/UPC label, if it needs a chill bag, or even a
complimentary gift wrap, he is there...
Robert
Tapia
(robert@redcarpetwine.com)
Robert joined
The Red Carpet Team in the spring of 2006. After several years working as
an insurance agent for a well known corporation he decided to make a
career change. He left his job and said goodbye to corporate
America
. Using the remainder of
his GI Bill, he enrolled at The California School of Culinary Arts, Le
Cordon Bleu Program in
Pasadena
. It was there in wine
class that he knew he wanted to somehow enter the wine world. After
graduating from
Culinary
School
he landed a job at local
wine shop and tasting room where he worked for two years before joining
Red Carpet.
Ray Wolkoff (ray@redcarpetwine.com)
My
name is Ray and I am the newest (and the oldest) addition to the Red Carpet
family. I have been in the wine
and spirits business since 1975. I
worked with my brother-in-laws at the Flask in
Studio
City
for almost 29 years. I am a
co-chair of “A Culinary Evening with the California Winemasters”
benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
This is one of the country’s premier charity events.
The 18th annual event is being held on May 5th.
I also enjoy arranging winemaker dinners and doing my annual bus
trip. My 16th
Annual Central Coast Bus Trip will be on June 10th.
I love visiting all the different wine regions in
California
,
especially the Los Olivos/Santa Ynez area.
Family is #1 and the grandkids are the best. I might know a lot of
you already, but I am looking forward to meeting the rest of you as well.
Alex Macy (alex@redcarpetwine.com)
Hailing from the bitter cold of
St. Paul
,
Minnesota
, Alex first came to
California
for the purpose of studying music at California Institute of the Arts.
During his tenure in
California
, he discovered a passion for Wine, Beer and Spirits which he developed
through various different ventures while in school.
After Graduating (and working as the wine buyer at a Whole Foods
Market), he decided to further pursue his interest full-time at Red Carpet
Wine. While Alex is mostly
involved and interested in wine, he also has a strong background in craft
beer, including some brewing of his own beer and being a member of the
Maltose Falcons Home Brewing Society.
