The 2005 Cimarossa Cabernet Sauvignon has a deep ruby red color with a dark berry core. Perfumed scents of raspberry, black currant and cinnamon spice. Long and full flavors of blackberry and a mineral component on the palate with smooth and silky tannins. An elegant and powerful expression of Howell Mountain.

Winemaker Sean Capiaux (O'Shaughnessy, Capiaux ) brings another winner from the tiny (1.4 acre) Riva de Ponente vineyard high atop Howell Mountain. The icon of this vintage, "delphinium nudicaule" (red larkspur), is a wild flower that grows at the edges of the vineyard.
