Back
in February at Premier Napa Valley Weekend we bumped into the Anomaly
winemaking team of Mark Porembski and Gerich Fellerman at the A.S.H. tasting
or St. Helena tasting. We were impressed with their Cabernet Sauvignon and
it was one of the top wines we tasted that weekend. Last month a couple of
us happened to be in the valley and we phoned Read

DuMol makes some of the countries best Pinot Noir, Chardonnay as well as a small amount of Syrah and Viognier. We spent the better part of two years begging and pleading with proprietor Kerry Murphy to sell us some of his wine. Our perseverance paid off.
A few of us had the great fortune to taste the spring release of these Read

While wine making has been in the family since the 1800's, the winery just recently developed into a rising star over the past few years, adding another estate to the elite in the Nahe region.
With a low yield policy (average yield around 50 hl/ha) and the recent acquisition of more great vineyard sites to their holdings, the winery is well on the way to challenge top

IN 1996, DAD DECIDED he wanted to plant something in the backyard. He had
never grown anything before, not even a tomato plant, but grapes seemed to
be doing well in his area. “We’ll just test it out,” he reasoned with
us. And then he planted nine acres of cabernet sauvignon. Read

Germany's
reputation as the greatest white wine producer in the world was historically
based largely on the Rheingau. One of our favorite Rheingau producers over
the last several vintages has been Stefan Gerhard. So with pleasure we
introduce the arrival of the 2007's. All his wines utilize the new
glass corks which truly represents the future of wine closures. Stefan
made his annual visit to our store to taste through his wines late March.
Many of you have become fans of these wines through our offering over the
last few years but I believe that Read More...

age as well. They will start arriving on the market March 2008. Read

On our recent visit to Napa Valley we had the opportunity to visit with and taste the wines of one of Napa’s rising stars Mac Watson of Macauley Vineyards. This, without a doubt was the highlight of our trip. The Macauley Vineyard label was originally established in St. Helena in the early 1980s by Ann Macauley Watson and for several years produced a very well received late harvest Sauvignon Blanc with help from renowned winemaker, Rick Forman.

After being banned from the USA since 1912, Absinthe is now legal. Absinthe derives its name from Artemisia absinthium, a bitter herb know as wormwood. Wormwood contains an ingredient known as thujone which accounts for the alleged mind-altering properties that caused Absinthe to be banned.
Absinthe is usually green in color. That’s why it was referred to as La Fee Verte (The Green Fairy). In addition to wormwood, there are other herbal

In just a few short years, this small winery has reached great heights in Barolo, capturing the extraordinary personality of their family vineyards. While recent vintages have been well executed, the 2003 vintage finds Saffirio Barolo at a whole new level of elegance and complexity. This is an exciting year for Barolo—an unusually hot summer put growers to the test, yet those who were diligent were amply rewarded with exciting wines
